A psychiatric evaluation is the first step toward understanding your mental health needs. During this assessment, a psychiatric provider reviews your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, current medications, and personal goals. This information helps guide an individualized treatment plan that may include medication, therapy, additional testing, or other supportive services.
Psychiatric medication management involves more than prescribing medication. It includes discussing treatment options, reviewing potential benefits and side effects, monitoring your response, and making adjustments when needed. Regular follow-up appointments help assess whether your treatment continues to support.
Recovery from substance use disorders looks different for everyone. Treatment may include withdrawal management, counseling, psychiatric care, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and ongoing recovery support. Understanding the available options can help individuals and families make informed decisions and develop a sustainable path toward recovery.
Behavioral health treatment is available at different levels of intensity depending on an individual's clinical needs. Detoxification provides support during withdrawal, residential treatment offers a structured living environment, partial hospitalization (PHP) provides intensive daytime treatment, and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) offer structured care while allowing greater independence. Outpatient services provide continued support as individuals progress through treatment and recovery.
